The membership of CMES is divided into two categories: individual member and corporate member. The individual membership, according to their residential place, is entitled as 1) member; 2) Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macao member (THM member); and 3) overseas member. All individual members are graded as member and senior member. The qualification of various membership are as follows:

1) Member:

Having obtained the technical qualifications of engineer, lecturer, assistant research fellows, technician; or having obtained a master degree of science & technology. The membership of this grade is recruited and administered by the relevant technical institutions and provincial branches.

2) Senior Member:

Having obtained the technical qualifications of senior engineer, associate professor, associate research fellows; or having obtained a Ph. degree; or having made important scientific & technological achievement. The senior membership is recruited and administered by the Headquarters of CMES.

3) Corporate Member:

All enterprises, institutes, organizations, which are engaged in R & D, manufacturing, education, and administration in the field of mechanical engineering and are willing to be associated with CMES and support the activities of CMES, are qualified to be the corporate members of CMES. The corporate membership is administered by CMES Headquarters, technical institutions, or provincial branches respectively.

4) Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macao Member:

Those who live in Taiwan, Hong Kong or Macao may apply for an appropriate membership of CMES depending on their relevant technical qualifications.The membership is administered by CMES Headquarters.

5) Overseas Members;

Those who live outside of China may apply for an appropriate membership of CMES depending on their relevant technical qualifications. The membership is administered by CMES Headquarters.
