The membership of CMES is divided into two categories: Individual Member and Corporate Member. All individual members are graded as student members, members and senior members.
    At present, CMES has over 180,000 individual members including 3,000 senior members, and over 4,000 corporate members throughout the world.
    CMES has various academic activities such as conferences, seminars and forums for its nationwide members.
    CMES annual conference is a regular annual event. Each year the conference will have different theme and holds in different provincial cities. It is co-organized by CMES and the local government and industry. The annual conference is now extensively recognized as the holy place to announce the latest mechanical engineering achievement, the meeting place for veteran and new members, and the platform for insight presentations and the window to view the trend of technical and social development.
    CMES headquarters, its technical institutions, and provincial branches also hold other important meetings, with over 100 national and international meetings every year.
    CMES is entrusted by the government to do the research and announcement of technology advancement of mechanical engineering. Every year, CMES organizes its experts to study and evaluate the technological progress of China’s machinery industry, and make the annual report and have it announced, which is very useful to the government and welcomed by the public.
